Your Subtitle text

<><><> Matthew 5:14-16  "You are the light of the world.  A city on a hill cannot be hidden.  Neither do people light a lamp and put
it under a bowl.  Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.  In the same way, let your light shine
before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." <><><>

A storm has destroyed homes and businesses.      Power lines are down and no one has electricity. Food and water are in short
supply.    No one is quite sure what to do next.   Who will help when everything seems bleak and hopeless? The answer appears
when volunteers in yellow caps and yellow shirts arrive on the scene providing food, water, assistance and spiritual guidance to
those in need. Who are these people? They are part of the Texas Disaster Relief Unit deployed to help during times of disaster.

During times of disaster, the Denton Baptist Association
Disaster Relief Team is ready for action. Individuals serve
in a variety of areas to meet the needs of those whose lives
have been affected by fires, earthquakes, tornadoes,
hurricanes, floods or any other type of disaster.

Disaster relief is a unique opportunity to live your Christian
witness. Volunteers not only provide much needed physical
assistance, but act as living examples of the love of Jesus
for everyone.

Yellow Cap Orientation Training

The Denton Baptist Disaster Relief Team works with the Texas
Baptist Men.   All volunteers must go through yellow cap orientation training before being deployed.   Denton Baptist Association has a TBM certified yellow cap trainer and also a certified shower unit trainer (see the current information tab for more details concerning DBA disaster relief training.)

Deployments

Disaster deployments can happen at any time of the year, but are more common during hurricane season (June through October). Deployments are usually within the US, but occasionally are international.   Almost always they are of fairly
short notice.

DBA provides basic yellow cap and some type of specialty training at least twice a year.   Above are some pictures
