The reason for all of the time and money and difficulty that is undertaken in disaster relief is to bring God's Word to folks who are lost. Times of disaster are a particularly effective time to do this as people are hurting and in need of help. Pictured above is a bible that was part of the packet left with folks that were helped (this one was signed by the chainsaw crew members that worked on the yard). A contact to the local church in the area is provided for follow up and long term support.
In spite of the name Texas Baptist MEN. Many of the volunteers are women. As can be seen here, even chainsaw work and brush handling.
On large deployments it is common for multiple units from all over the country to work in the same area. Here the DBA chainsaw unit is parked alongside chainsaw units from Louisiana and Iowa.
